By train

Athenes - Thessaloniki (fast train + reserved sit + one meal inclued) 15,55 Euros (August 2001), not much more expensive than bus and very confortable. (the traveller has to pay for his own drinks)
 
Patras - Athènes (slow train, not very confortable, no sit reserved, no air cond.) 5,28 Euros
 

Every day train from Bulgaria to Greece :Sofia-Thessaloniki 11:00 p.m. 7:13 a.m. (next morning) Thessaloniki-Athens 8:00 a.m. 3:35 p.m. One way ticket is 65 leva (September 2003 prices)

From Bulgaria to Greece :Informations from September 2003
2 buses every day except Monday: Blagoevgrad (BG) - Athens at 10:30 and 12:30. It takes about 10 hours including borders crossing. Student price: 107.49 leva round ticket. Tickets available in Blagoevgrad travel agencies
